Goodwellness Policies

Welcome to Goodwellness.  To ensure a smooth and positive experience, We would like to provide you with some important information about our practice. Please take a moment to review the following details:

Appointments & Cancellations:

  • Appointments can be scheduled by contacting our office during regular business hours of Monday – Thursday 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • The standard meeting time is 60 minutes for a first appointment and 30 mins for a second appointment.  From there, it is up to you to determine the duration of your sessions, which are typically between 15-30 minutes.  Requests to change the session length need to be discussed with Goodwellness in advance of the appointment.
  • Please arrive a few minutes before your scheduled appointment for a NEW patient appointment.
  • We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, however if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do so 24 hours in advance. 
  • Appointments canceled less than 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment are considered missed appointments.  A missed appointment fee of $75.00 will be charged to your account for missed appointments or late cancellations. 
  • If you are late for a session, you may lose some of that session time if another appointment is directly after yours.

Financial Responsibility:

  • You are ultimately responsible for your treatment bills.  If you have insurance coverage with Blue Cross Blue Shield or Delaware Medicaid, Goodwellness will file claims and provide any reasonable information your insurance company requests from us.  However, it is your responsibility to know your health benefit coverage.
  • If your insurance does not pay Goodwellness for any reason, you will be responsible for your remaining balance.
  • You are responsible for notifying us of any changes to your insurance provider or policy.
  • Co-pays, co-insurances, and deductibles are due at the time of service; therefore your credit card will be placed on autopay and charged when fees accrue.  If not paying with cash upon service, it is required for all patients to have a credit card on file.
  • Goodwellness will notify you before charging any amount over $300.00

Telehealth, Communication, and Accessibility:

  • We are 90% virtual with an exception for those on controlled substances.  If you are on a controlled substance you are required by law to be seen in person once.

  • If you need to contact me between sessions, please leave a message on my voicemail or send a message through Tebra.  I am often not available immediately; however, I will attempt to respond within 24 business hours.
  • If a true emergency situation arises, please call 911 or any local emergency room.


  • If you are a minor, your parents may be legally entitled to some information about your appointments.  I will discuss with you and your parents what information is appropriate for them to receive and which issues are more appropriately kept confidential.
  • Goodwellness will not participate in any court proceedings regarding child custody issues; however, there may be times we can provide a therapeutic assessment if there is a matter that pertains to the child’s safety.  Child custody issues are not our area of expertise.  Therefore, if a child custody issue arises after a therapeutic relationship has been established, a referral to a child custody expert will be offered.

Medication Requests:

  • Your provider will discuss a follow up schedule with you at your appointment.  Refill requests will not be sent without a follow up appointment scheduled.
  • Your provider will not refill ANY controlled substances if you run out due to a missed appointment.  It is important that your provider evaluate your progress before refilling your medication.
  • It is important to note, Goodwellness does not specialize in addiction.  If addiction challenges are present, we may offer a referral to an addiction specialist.


  • We reserve the right to dismiss any patient from the practice for any of the following reasons:
    • Missed 2 appointments.
    • Any abusive or threatening behavior or harassment of any kind to the staff
    • Failure to take medication as prescribed or follow the recommended treatment plan
  • Should you fail to schedule an appointment for three consecutive months, unless other arrangements have been made in advance, for legal or ethical reasons, we will consider the professional relationship discontinued.


  • Your privacy is of utmost importance to us. We adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines, and information will only be disclosed in accordance with applicable laws.
  • Information regarding services provided is controlled by the patient.  However, there are several exceptions to this rule:
    • If you express intent to harm yourself or someone else.
    • If there is a reason to believe a patient, child, or dependent adult is being abused or neglected.
    • If your records are subpoenaed by court.
    • If records are requested by insurance companies.
